We are also only 7 miles from Peterborough Showground. Not to mention Burghley Horse Trials just 7 miles up the A1 in Stamford. Oundle School offers the Stahl Theatre which is open to the public to enjoy Oundle Literature Festival and Music Festival amongst others.

The White Swan
The pub, which dates from the 1600s, is a stone-built, Grade II listed building set in the middle of an idyllic English village. The White Swan has recently been re-opened following major refurbishment and has wasted no time in establishing a great reputation for its delicious modern British food, beers and wines.
Rob Bibby Ceramics
Woodnewton based Rob Bibby creates a wide range of functional pottery from plates, bowls, mugs etc to larger serving dishes and tureens. His work is colourfully decorated and glazed and can be used in the microwave, oven and dishwasher. He will take orders for complete dinner services. Rob's studio known as Woodnewton Pottery is a large workshop converted from a historic Wesleyan chappel.

Oundle School
Oundle School is situated in the quintessentially English market town from which it takes its name. Fotheringhay Church and Castle Mound
The magnificent church of St.Mary and All Saints dates from the 15th century. A college was founded in the church in 1411 by Edward of York before his death at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.

Stamford
Burghley House - Home of The Famous Burghley Horse Trials
Built and mostly designed by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 and 1587, the main part of the House has 35 major rooms on the ground and first floors. There are more than 80 lesser rooms and numerous halls, corridors, bathrooms and service areas. The lead roof extends to three quarters of an acre, restoration and rebuilding of which began in 1983 and took nearly ten years to complete. Visitor facilities include the Orangery Restaurant, Gift Shop, Gardens of Surprise and beautiful walks around the historic parkland laid out by Capability Brown and still occupied by a herd of fallow deer.

Rutland Water
The attractive 3,100 acre reservoir has an international reputation for providing a balance of sport, leisure and wildlife conservation and offers everyone the opportunity to try something new. You can try sports such as windsurfing, rock-climbing or canoeing, hire a dinghy, bicycle or fishing boat, visit the Egleton and Lyndon nature reserves, or just relax by the water and watch the action around the 25 mile shoreline.
Northamptonshire
Deene Hall
A most interesting house, occupied and developed by the Brudenell family since 1514, from a mediaeval manor around a courtyard into a Tudor and Georgian mansion. Visitors see many rooms of different periods, providing an impressive yet intimate ambience of the family home of many generations. The most flamboyant member of the family to date was the 7th Earl of Cardigan, who led the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaklava and of whom there are many historic relics and pictures on view.
Wicksteed Park
Wicksteed Park, as well as having rides and attractions, is also an English Heritage Grade II Listed Park and Garden. Visitors can walk into the Park 365 days a year, free of charge, and the vehicle gates are only closed on Christmas Day.
Coton Manor
Fantastic for garden enthusiasts, about an hour away but well worth the visit. This peaceful ten acre garden occupies a hillside position extending down from the 17th century manor house, constructed of mellow Northamptonshire stone.
Cottesbrooke Hall
Cottesbrooke is a wonderful Queen Anne house dating from 1702, set in delightful award winning gardens in rural Northamptonshire. The Hall is the much loved family home of the Macdonald-Buchanan family and lived in every day. With some exceptional family portraits this is quite apparent and makes a visit to this house a truly unique experience.

Sibson Airfield
The Peterborough Flying Club is a well established flight training centre incorporating extensive skills and experience from full and part time flight instructors. The flying school has an extensive aircraft fleet providing good availability for training and hire. In addition to basic training aircraft there is also tail-dragger, aerobatic and vintage aircraft, which makes PFC one of the best equipped schools in the country.
